The Start

Spreading the feeling of togetherness, creating the world’s first-ever global #SwimRise

After being contacted by the founders of the Human Excellence Project Team we were quickly tasked with activating a global campaign of epic proportions. The goal was to celebrate a morning of action across the world – a Global Swim Rise – encouraging people to enter the sea (or any patch of cold water) at daen as the sun rose across the world.

Brief

Togetherness is the focal point.

We were asked to create the activation strategy that would enable people from around the world to register an interest in creating an event, then to ensure they were fully informed advocates who could help spread the word as well as stay safe during the SwimRise.

We created a simple but extremely effective campaign microsite that, coupled with video content, explained the who, what, when, and why of the #SwimRise – all we left for people to tell us was where

We collaborated with the team who made video content and led on the social media community management to increase the wave of enthusaism our campaign was spreading across the world. We also led on email comms and a paid advertising campaign aimed at key coastal locations coupled with interests around the sea, outdoor swimming and other water sport hobbies to ensure we were reaching a receptive audience.

Results

Community power.

The results were not only beyond our initial estimates, but it showed the intuition of the Human Excellence team. Throughout the launch period we managed to create a movement in which 2000+ people took part, 125 different events were created in 25 different countries, driving tens of thousands of people to the site. This was the icing on the cake, due to the sheer amount of countries involved and how global it really became. A credit to a fantastic collaboration.
