Colehouse are pleased to be working with The Ancient Unicorn, a 16th Century coaching inn located in the historic village of Bowes, close to Barnard Castle in beautiful Teesdale. With the refurbishment of their 14 bedrooms, The Ancient Unicorn decided it was time to update their existing website which Colehouse have assisted in a full redevelopment of.
We wanted to ensure that The Ancient Unicorn’s new website captured the essence of the friendly service that they provide to their guests with plenty of high-quality imagery that helped to set the scene of the warm welcoming you’ll receive when you visit; Harry, our excellent photographer did a wonderful job of this and the imagery of bedrooms and restaurant food used across the website really helped with the transformation and brought everything to life.
While making everything look pretty is absolutely essential, there were a lot of functionalities that we needed to incorporate into the website to allow guests to easily navigate the site and make booking or contacting as easy and simple as possible. The installation of a live booking system, allowing guests to check availability of bedrooms across their chosen dates provided the convenience that everyone seeks when making a booking.

It’s just a stone’s throw away from Barnard Castle, a historic, quaint market town with its massive ruined castle and fabulous bubbling river, or if you have the day to spare you can visit the Bowes Museum, a massive French Chateau packed with amazing artefacts collected by the Bowes family over their travels.
